Day 17: Nice > Charleroi > Warhaus

I spent the morning wandering around Nice before my flight. The weather was lovely. The property where I stayed I’d call “Budget Bougie” – it was only $37ish and was quite nice. Aside from the loud construction across the street, it was a really comfortable room with a great bed … I slept HARD.

Plus, it was right across the street from the train (remember my uber story, lol). It was also just steps from a little market where I got snacks and breakfast.

Europe just continues to be a feast for my eyes. The buildings, the people, the smells, the sounds.

Most people won’t know who Warhaus is … it’s a project of Maarten Devoldere, who also has a band called Balthazar who I LOVE and have followed for years. Part of my Europe planning included finding a few artists I like and going to see them … so when I saw Warhaus was in Belgium, planned that as a stop.

Nice is lovely. Wandered for a few hours. It was an easy tram to the airport BUT I Ubered. $15ish dollars door-2-door is worth it.
At the airport now. I have a seat, so just sitting.
Why anyone would clamor to get on a plane sooner than needed is beyond me (but I paid a few more bucks for an assigned seat … so if ya didn’t, get that).
But seriously, being the last one on the plane is the ticket.
I just can’t get over the vibe/feel that is so different here.
I don’t know if it comes from the people, or the policies, or both.
