Day 16: Italy to France

Slept REALLY WELL (despite my recurrent travel nightmare dreams). Got up and out of the property by 10 or so.
Met Pam and Sheryl from Portland getting on the train at Vernazza … I LOVE the fact that I met 2 women from the US going to the same place … and three brains were DEFINITELY better than one (or two). We totally needed each other to get here. Their tickets and connections were slightly different than mine and we needed each others’ pieces of the puzzle, PLUS some super helpful local women (at least three times) helping us with where we needed to go. Good travel day.
We both called ubers and then my driver asked to confirm my destination, because I was LITERALLY ACROSS THE STREET from my property. We had a laugh about it. It was worth the $12 to sit down for a sec.
After I got settled, I went and got some dinner and snacks … both things literally 2 minutes on each side.
It is LOUD and VIBRANT right here. Like traffic and sirens and trains whizzing by. I’m not bothered by that because I live on a busy street. Ear Plugs will do the trick … but in any event, interesting vibe.
I only have a few hours in the morning before I get on a plane to Brussels, so will probably just check out more of this neighborhood. So far so good.
For dinner, I Googled food near me and found a Thai/Wok restaurant. I honestly haven’t eaten at restaurants much, but both times has been Thai food :). Good stuff.
Today’s pics are mostly snap snap snap as the train went along the coast. The featured image is what we did today. Kinda glorious.
