Not gonna lie, I say a LOT of eff bombs in my head. Not BAD ones, just MANY MANY MANY Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOWs.
Amsterdam is glorious. I honestly don’t think I’m gI oing to see more sights that top the last, and then I do. Not “top” really, they’re just different.
I had a bit of a lazy morning. I knew I was going to take the train from Zandvoort where I’m staying to Amsterdam. My car is still parked in the garage a couple blocks away, but you don’t DRIVE to Amsterdam. That’s just silly talk. SO, knowing I didn’t have the concert until 7:30 or so, took my time with coffee and reading this morning and then caught a train around 1pm.
After I got to Amsterdam, I hit a Starbucks at the train station to charge my phone, because I didn’t quite know the adventure ahead as far as venue, getting the train back home, etc. and so I wanted to have a full charge.
I LOVE the Amsterdam vibe. I had about a 30 minute walk to the venue, so I just made my way in that direction, and it was all ON the beaten path, well lit, bustling, bubbling with energy, even starting to be lit up for the holidays. Absolutely magnificent. I found the venue and still had 2 hours, so I searched food nearby and found an AMAZING Indian restaurant. Tandoori mixed grill … Ate way too much with much joy.
By that time I was able to get into the Paradiso venue. SOOO cool. Gorgeous venue, great acoustics. Met people from Australia, Italy, Amsterdam, and New Zealand (Simone!) … Danced like crazy.
Then … tram to the train station and back home … smooth sailing. I didn’t linger in Amsterdam, because the train stops around midnight and didn’t want to take any chances … plus exhausted.
